Survey data — Svenja Damm & Tobias Paul, Lingua Aegyptia (forthcoming)
230 Egyptological publications that engage with register or a related notion of situational-functional variation, each classified by how it handles the term — and the citation network among them: 1466 citations across 256 works, the surveyed ones and those they cite.
One network, switchable layers: arrange it by anchoring and year, by year against how often a work is cited, by citing against being cited, by citation community, or on a single time line with arcs. Colour by anchoring, community, co-citation circle or role; filter by year, by anchoring, by citation count. Hovering a work shows what cites it and what it cites, in two colours.
Sethe 1925, Stricker 1944, Junge 1984 and 1985, Polis 2018 — the five models the article discusses, drawn afresh from the original publications by Amnah El-Shiaty and free to reuse under CC BY 4.0, at full resolution and at 300 dpi.
Not here: the abstracts and the assessment field of the working database, both third-party text, and the titles screened but not included.
File names count the figures produced here; the article
numbers them differently, and both are given. Each comes as PNG at 600 dpi and
as PDF, in colour and in the greyscale version used in print
(_bw).
The analysis that produces all of the above is in
scripts/, with
a walkthrough that says of
each script what it reads and what it writes. They read the Citavi project,
which is not published, so they will not run as they stand; they are there so
that the method can be inspected. Their comments are in German — hence the
walkthrough.
Everything here is CC0 1.0 — use it for anything, without asking and without attribution. The one exception is figures/redrawn/: those five drawings are © Amnah El-Shiaty under CC BY 4.0, which does ask for the credit line. Full wording in LICENSE.
Attribution is not required, but a citation is welcome. Cite the tagged
state, not the branch — the default branch keeps moving:

the tag lingaeg-2026. Published state of this page:
